Trowulan ,The Pride of Java
Trowulan is a sub-district in Mojokerto, East Java, Indonesia. Trowulan located in Mojokerto regency west and neighboring Jombang. There are many relics found in the kingdom of Majapahit in Trowulan for allegedly is one of the capital of the kingdom of Majapahit with evidence Negarakertagama book, Inscription Bhutak, and Song and Song of Panji Wijaydakrama Harsawijaya.
Trowulan have a museum to be a place to store and preserve artifacts and archaeological findings were found around the area Trowulan, the Museum Trowulan. Many of the collection at the Museum Trowulan are the findings of the kingdom of Majapahit, but there are also findings from other kingdoms, such as the period Kahuripan, Kediri and Singhasari. The museum is located on the west pond Segaran.
Previously, this museum is a simple repository established with the aim of preventing the theft of artifacts and over time evolved into Trowulan Museum. The museum was founded by Henri Maclaine Pont, a Dutch architect and archaeologist, and thanks to the role of regent of Mojokerto, Kanjeng Duke Ario Kromodjojo Adinegoro. In 1987, the museum was officially opened to the extent of 57 625 square meters.
Some examples of the relics in Majapahit kingdom are:
1. Candi Tikus
Candi Tikus is made of red stone that was used as a bathing place of the king's daughter. Candi Tikus discovered in 1914 and by then, had become a rat's nest. Therefore given the name Candi Tikus. The building structure that stands out is on top of the temple symbolizes the peak of the mountain Mahameru holy water can drain. In 1985 and 1989 began the rat temple restored and become what it is today.
2. Gapura Bajang Ratu
Not far from the Candi Tikus , in the village there are also Temon heritage building Majapahit empire that stands 16.5 meters in height, that Gapura Bajang Ratu. 3. Candi Brahu
Brahu is patterned Buddhist temple in Trowulan, this suggests that at the time of the Kingdom of Majapahit had no great tolerance between religions. Brahu made of red brick with height 20 meters, 22.5 meters long and 18 meters wide. Brahu restored in 1990 and 1995. Its usefulness is as an incinerator (crematorium) remains the kings.
4. Kolam Segaran
Kolam Segaran is an enormous oblong. The name "Segaran" comes from the Javanese "Immediately" which means sea. Maybe the people around it mentions an Segaran is a miniature ocean for a very large size. At the time found in 1926, the structure of dikes and walls that surround the pool is buried soil and mud, and a few years later made clearing.
